Conference Board of Canada 2011-2024
Former featured speaker and special advisor to the Council on Innovation and Commercialization with the Conference Board of Canada. Workshops and conference keynotes delivered on talent management, corporate cultures, creativity and innovation, visual analytics and experiential marketing/branding to National conferences and the National Innovation Council, National Security Council, National Human Resources Council, Knowledge Management Council, and the Council for Customer Experience.

Digital Incubator, Chile – Araucania Digital/Lacustre Films 2012-2017
Consultant to this Chilean digital media accelerator and incubator, developed the business attraction and marketing communications strategies to engage multiple domestic and international stakeholders. Results-to-date include national recognition by Chile’s Ministry of Economic Development (CORFO) and support from international digital media hubs and investors in Canada, Italy, and the USA. Designed the framework for a post-graduate certificate program in Management of the Creative Industries in partnership with Sheridan College. Drafted and arranged for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Sheridan College for future development in values-based leadership, animation, gaming, documentary film and management of the creative industries. Special emphasis is on the translation of the Mapuche mythology into transmedia narrative capable of production in film, animation or games.

Gaming Company – Fedev (Federal Development) Project 2013
GameCo is a Canadian game and animation company that requires competitive intelligence to break into the China and Pan Asian market. A team was established to conduct cultural market research and compare the Pan Asian Market to the North American market. Separate marketing strategies will be created and documented using senior students to address these cultural aspects. Competitive intelligence will include transmedia strategies for both gaming and film animation markets in pre and post-visualization.

IXDA Conference – 2009
Organized the first International Interaction Design Conference to be held in Canada, in Vancouver, British Columbia in 2009. Working with a core group of 30 students (over one year), the planning and organizing of the conference included the procurement of hotels, venues, restaurants, conference gifts and give-aways, obtaining and booking sponsors, and arranging all transportation of keynote and regular speakers. The conference was spread between two hotels, the Hotel Vancouver and the Four Seasons being one block apart. Over 700 attendees made the conference a huge success and resulted in over $ 1mil in revenue for the Hotels. The speaker line-up included industry legends as well as up and coming stars for a well-rounded, engaging two and a half days of inspiration and learning. The conference included an additional day of tivity clusters and cultures of innovation. Promotion of Vancouver and Canada as industry creativity clusters in innovation.

Pre-conference workshops and a 1/2 day more of exciting IxDA content including 6 keynote talks, one Round Table, 8 Session Talks and 28 lightning round talks.

First International Visual Analytics Conference – 2008
Organized the first International Visual Analytics Conference in 2008. Working with a core group of 12 graduate students, the conference was pulled together in a short timeframe (6 weeks). Two venues of Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia were utilized. Over 200 attendees and over 20 speakers from around the world made the conference a memorable introduction to the world of visual analytics. Ongoing work in the development of the field of visual analytics was made possible by a $1.3 mil grant from Boeing Corporation jointly to the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University.

Provincial and Federal Government: Design and conduct corporate culture audits. Conduct environmental scans and gap analysis for talent management and retention, analyze business process, design and development of best practices programs. Design and deliver leadership development programs for various departments. Design and deliver change management workshops for middle managers. Design and deliver knowledge management programs. Conduct feasibility analysis through implementation.

Legal: Conduct corporate cultural audit to assess and evaluate talent management programs and establish best practices. Design and deliver leadership development program for female associates and partners. Design and deliver performance measurement programs and analytics. Conduct competitive intelligence for mergers and acquisitions. Customer experience mapping and analysis. Conduct feasibility analysis through implementation. Keynote speaker with the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian In-House Counsel Association.

A Resource-Based Conglomerate: Design and develop generational leadership programs and talent management pipeline for an internal leadership review process. Design and deliver workshops for senior leadership teams on values-based leadership. Design acquisition program to attract and retain high performance candidates. Based on analysis of data collected, lead indicators of productive engagement were developed and from the lead indicators, leadership and a talent management base measurement obtained. Develop internal strategic initiative that measured and monitored succession planning and knowledge retention.

Health Care: Conduct corporate culture audit to assess and evaluate performance management, design and develop values-based leadership development programs. Conduct environmental scan and develop organizational metrics. Client experience mapping. Conduct feasibility analysis through implementation.

Economic Development Corporation: Assess and evaluate potential opportunities for revenue generation and community engagement from creative activities and provide recommendations for linkages between the creative sector and the broader economy. Design and deliver programs.

Airlines: Design and delivery of seminars/workshops on creativity and innovation. Provide organizational design process improvements for middle management and performance metrics. Environmental scan to establish internal and external stakeholders, outline the minimum requirements to be met in terms of personnel and corporate structures to be competitive and identify opportunities to innovate to attain competitive advantage.

Gaming: Market analysis initiatives to determine industry and user profiles; competitive product analysis and product positioning. Conduct competitive intelligence and environmental scan for market entry on international expansion. After analysis, design and deliver implementation action plans and delivery timelines for integrated marketing program for expansion. Conduct feasibility analysis through implementation.

IT Organization: Assess, evaluate and provide recommendations on new IT system including analysis of current business and IT strategies, needs and potentials. Report outlining one or more coherent visions for change in terms of technology, work organization, workflow and required employee qualifications. Design and deliver programs.
